I met Susan Foss, the author of Road Magic, while living at the Kings Inn boarding house in Tucson, Arizona. I was a student at the University of Arizona pursing a degree in Business Administration. She was a cross-country traveler with a goal to see America by motorcycle.  Our lives intersected for only six months during the Spring of 1981 but I found the experience had a lifelong impact.

Sue was larger than life when I met her.  She was doing and seeing things that I had only dreamed of. She taught me how to have fun, be spontaneous, and take chances.

During the Summer of 1981, we exchanged letters and then we lost touch for 22 years.  In January 2003, an Internet search and a couple of phone calls put us back in touch.

Our reunion was an extraordinary experience and the ride since has been very special.  It's like we picked up where we left off without missing a beat.

Sue's books reflect her boundless enthusiasm and unbridled zest to take a chance on life.  Her appreciation for beautiful landscape, affection for the people she meets, and her love for America come through loud and clear in all of her Road Magic books.  The true story is so compelling you will not be able to put the books down until you get to the end of each chapter.

I developed this Web Site as a "Thank You" present to Sue for single-handedly energizing my spirit, enlightening my soul, and restoring my confidence all those years ago at the Kings Inn.  And to my surprise, she has the same impact on my life today.  I am proud to call Susan Foss my friend.
